Honorary Members

The GTA Constitution allows for Honorary members of the Association, and the Bylaws say that "Honorary members are those persons who have been so recognized by the Association through an action of the Representative Assembly."  Honorary members of the Association pay no dues and have no voting privileges.

In October of 2025, the GTA Rep Assembly, citing the following points, unanimously voted to name Brent Critchley an honorary member of the GTA:

• Brent supported our GTA initiatives since at least 2016.

• He was invaluable when we launched GTA’s Making School Affordable for Families Pilot Program, partnering with GTA to make school supplies more affordable for Greece Families by creating a Central Stores catalog and providing staffing to handle and purchase supplies.  He helped to decrease a $120 supply list down to $12 for families. GCSD families have collectively saved many tens of thousands of dollars on school supplies as a result of this initiative.

• He worked tirelessly on First Book, distributing tens of thousands of donated books to our students.

• Brent was instrumental in Coats for Kids- organizing, purchasing, sizing, storing, and delivering  of over $60,000 worth of coats for our students.  

• He also joined our GTCP committee meetings as a partner on future GTA initiatives and a resource for how to manage and order a variety of materials.

In short, Brent made Coats for Kids, First Book, and the Making Schools Affordable for Families Program possible, always under the banner of GTA and/or GTCP.
